(no subject)
So tomorrow, early in the morning, I'm heading up to Ludington to take my CNA testing. I'm nervous. I took the training in June. It's been so long I feel clumsy in doing it. I've been studying, so here's hoping. *crosses fingers*
I'm still in communication with the woman with the nanny job. They're offering about half of what is considered a low wage in this area and only about 70% of what I have to have to make bills. Of course 70% of bills is better than the current 0%. I'm going to try to counter for better wages, but I may have to just take it for the time being because I'm not getting anything else, though I'm still applying.
It's discouraging when you take an unemployment survey and the number of jobs you've applied for is off the chart of available answers to the question: "Since you've been unemployed, how many jobs have you applied for? 1-25, 26-50, 51-75, 76-99" 653 is not an option. But it is my number.
The craft show on Saturday didn't do well. It was really low attendance, out of about 35 vendors, 6 or 7 were jewelry only and another 4-5 more had jewelry as well as other items. After booth fees, I made $17, and then $4 of that went to the table next to me. She had homemade candies and goodies and she kept feeding me free samples. I did also get a couple special orders for about $45 worth of work, maybe. One lady couldn't decide if she wanted me to make her watch or if she just wants me to restring hers, so I need to call her tomorrow to see what she has decided.
I caved to pressure and while I have all my jewelry (including 80 new items I put up on Sunday!) on http://thelliesjewelry.livejournal.com , I also have select pieces on Etsy (http://thelliesjewelryetc.etsy.com) to hopefully get a bit more visibility and credibility.
I do need to get a new laptop. This one keeps almost dying. Thank God it's still working again for the moment. I also need a new camera. Mine doesn't like to focus since I dropped it at Amethyst's wedding in July, and I can't zoom at all.
I did get a bigger special order the other day! I get to work with Sapphire for the first time! I'm excited about that. It's just rough nugget beads, but I'm looking forward to seeing them when they arrive. That is being paired with sterling silver spacers and Opalite flowers. I can't wait to see this all put together, though it looks like it will cost more than what I originally quoted, though I did warn her that I didn't have all the pieces yet, and I couldn't give her a final quote until I had everything in front of me, so she knows it will probably be going up.
