I have a lot of sports related ideals in my head. I typed one about the BSC today at work and decided to email to the local sports talk radio because I guess I really don't have an outlet for this. I didn't even think they would read it.

I thought about the great football we would get if the BCS went to a 16 team play-off. You could let in all 11 1-A conference winners in and use the BCS or some version of the formula to rank teams and get the at large bids. Bearing any upset this weekend, the teams you would have this year would be:

ACC- Virginia Tech
Big 12 - Oklahoma
Big East - Pittsburgh
Big Ten - Michigan
Conference USA - Louisville
MAC - Toledo/Miami(OH) winner
MWC - Utah
Pac 10 - USC
SEC - Auburn
Sun Belt - North Texas
WAC - Boise St
At-Large - California
At-Large - Texas
At-Large - Georgia
At-Large - Miami
At-Large - LSU

Ranking into a bracket using the BCS would look something like this:

1 USC
16 North Texas

8 Boise St
9 Louisville

6 Utah
11 LSU

4 California
13 Michigan
----------------------
3 Auburn
14 Pittsburgh

5 Texas
12 Va Tech

7 Georgia
10 Miami

2 Oklahoma
15 Tulsa/Miami(OH) winner

You can see there would be great first round match up and potential great match-ups every round.
They start it the week before Christmas, the students are already out of school. You end the week after New Years, the kids are back yet. You still get people arguing about rankings and the 17 team getting left off. You still have the potential for huge upsets the last week, what if Oklahoma or Auburn lose their conference championship game, who gets bumped. You still have 15 games you can put at all the different sites you already have now. You still get a network to pay you big bucks to televise the games. And you get congress off you back.

Why is this so hard for the BCS to figure out.

C'mon. Who would want to see TX/OU in the final four? I'll tell you: everybody. That looks good to me, but as I always say in matters of the BCS, there's no time for logical solutions.

Thanks for the email. We'll talk about your bracket on the air.

OMG they not only like my ideal they are going to read it on the air. On 1300 the zone, Rome is on that station. I am nervous. *freaks out*

I am going to try and write up more of my ideal/thoughts on sports. I really think I could talk about sports for 4 hours at a time. I know I sure as hell bother enreldt at times with it.
