Every once in a while I like to take a look at my hometown newspaper's website, so when I call home or they call me, we have stuff to make fun of.
Once again,
the paper doesn't disappoint. Yep, that's the school superintendent, dismissing anything the governor has to say as just politics. Never mind that he actually agrees with everything the governor suggests. It's politics, so it doesn't matter. Makes you wonder if it were a Democrat making those same suggestions, would the Super be singing a different tune.
Oh yeah, by the way, this is the same superintendent who got a brand new elementary school built, saying that this school would have more room than they would know what to do with. Oh yeah, and a semester later, an addition just had to be built on, since the new school failed to have room for the special ed preschool. How do I know all this? Besides it being public knowledge, that was the class my sister teaches, and has taught for going on about 6 years now I believe. Oh, and did I mention that he left her and her class at the old school, completely by themselves with no security, aside from a phone that is? Yeah.
Get the feeling that this guy probably shouldn't be running the show?
The real reason he's upset, by the way, is that the governor is advocating sharing of superintendents among school systems. Let's just say the other superintendent in the county seems to have a better grasp of reality than he does, and I venture to guess that he is suffering from a bit of an inferiority complex (well-deserved).
Did I mention the other superintendent is excited about the proposed reforms?
Good ol' Greensburg. Just like it used to be...backward.
