2. I see that some people are already freaking out about the whole thing, and it makes me sad to see that so many people lack a sense of humor. Or maybe just have an overdeveloped desire to defend the underdog, regardless of the circumstances.

People were playing with microfics. Four words, two words, one word. Cover art. It was hysterical. Well. To me, anyway.

Ah. Judging from the mod post, I was assuming there was more to it, such as it was someone poking fun at other authors. [shrug] I didn't find all that much to it (literally), but I guess I missed some of what was posted before it was taken down.

Well, it all started as a tongue-in-cheek satirical response to someone who was persistently spamming the comm with teeny tiny minific posts (well under 100 words each -- and incidentally, none of those has been deleted), but there was no mocking at all on the comm, nor any reference at all to that author or her post or her fic(bits). There may have been a wee bit of mockery in a locked post or two, but nothing public. The public posts on the comm were just silly and fun. (IMO and YMMV and all that.)

I see a post about deleted posts. What did I miss?

Inspired by a couple of recently teeny tiny snippet postings (less than 50 words, 25 words), a couple of other people started riffing on it and posted a 4-word ficlet (for which someone else made cover art), then there was a 2-word one (with a 1-word sequel) that someone else remixed... it was all very silly and completely absurd and I thought it was grand fun.

Apparently the mods thought it was mean-spirited mockery of the original microfic postings and took it all down.

And okay, there may have been a bit of satire involved initially, but I thought it was mostly just people getting silly and having a lot of fun.

Too bad it had to go away.
