When crushes die

Aug 20, 2007 20:33

I just watched Diary of a City Priest, a DVD I'd finally located (used, former rental copy, licensed but no case or artwork, man this thing was hard to find) after a year or so of poking around. It's hardly a blockbuster, but it was a moderately interesting look at both the day-to-day realities and the inner life of a middle-aged Catholic priest in ( Read more... )

Sam Waterston. 12 years on Law & Order, and I swear he's sexier than when he started. I actually have an unfinished L&O fanfic in which I wax poetic about the sexy skin texture of 60-something Jack McCoy...

Hugo Weaving. Okay, I'm totally crushing on him right now because I just saw Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. But he's so adorable, in a quirky, big-foreheady kind of way. And he makes a good bad guy, too, and he even manages to be sexy under the V mask. Maybe it's just that good acting is always sexy.

Rene Auberjonois. Without heavy makeup, he's sort of... the best of Sam Waterston and Hugo Weaving combined, come to think of it. Adorable and quirky, but with that sexy ruggedness and sharp features, too. Then there's the growly voice. I even find him sexy as Odo, under all the makeup. I think it's those "bedroom eyes" that Odo's so famous for...

Oh, and Anthony Hopkins is falling into the pudgy trap these days, but boy he had it for a long damn time...

Hell, all he has to do is TALK and he still owns me. I don't even care what he looks like. *sigh*

It's true. I think he falls into the "good acting is always sexy" category, too...

Oh, and I think I need to throw in a word for Patrick Stewart, too. 'Cause, come on. And check out that body...

Oh, yes. He's another one that will have it all the way to the grave.

And Jayzus! Those LEGS! *whimpers*

I think that's an older picture of him, but the more recent ones seem to suggest that he's still in damn good shape...

Oh, yay! It's been a while since I thought of Patrick Stewart. Man, that's some nostalgia...he might have been my first full-blown obsession, actor-wise. Definitely my first contact with online fandom, when I got some women in New York to send me Playbills and programs and such (one of which included that fantastic pic from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Yum.).

Talk about improbable crush...hell, I must have been 13. He was in his mid-fifties? Which doesn't seem all that old to me anymore, but was a good four times my age at the time.

Heh. And my first crush, at the same age, was Captain Kirk. I guess starship captains lend themselves to teenage crushes, eh? *g*

I've already chimed in on the Sam Waterston endorsement, so I'll just add another "ditto" here. Yes. Oh, yes.

I hadn't thought of Rene Auberjonois, but yeah, I can see that. Great voice. God, I love that.

And GREAT BIG YES on Hugo Weaving. He does it for me in a big way. Any time he's on screen, regardless of the role, I can never take my eyes off him. And wow, that pic you linked is pure hotness! *happysquirm*

Have another! :-)

Um... what is Hugo Weaving... doing, there? I mean... what's the context?

I have immense respect for how he carried off his Matrix role.

I got the photo out of context, too, but I found this descriptor for it: "With brother Simon, from Robert Rosen's 1993 photographic exhibition of nude siblings."

Huh.
