For SGA, Rodney is close to my favorite but I adore Beckett, Teyla, and Ronon as well. It's a close race.
For the Whedon shows, I'm not a huge fan, so I checked various options mostly for lack of caring about any of the actors.
Despite disliking a lot of the tone of NCIS, there's something about the show that I love and I think most of it is the characters. I adore almost all of them pretty equally except for Gibbs and the Director - can't choose b/w Abby, Tony, Kate, Ziva, McGee, and Ducky. They're all fab.
I only write occasionally, and usually my brief bursts of creativity are spurred by my love for particular characters. I'm not sure if that shows in my writing or not, but possibly it does b/c I usually only write small snippets focusing on those characters. I tend to seek out fic about those characters too, though I do like teamfic and such in my Gateverses.

Yep, I'm pretty much with you there. I have frightening quantities of purchased and downloaded media for half a dozen favorite actors. I'm... remarkably thorough when I get focused on someone. *g*
And Colin Cunningham/Paul Davis very nearly made the poll -- I like him a lot, too -- but I couldn't quite justify it since I was trying to do just the major regulars, not guest cast. Now if I'd slipped Da Vinci's Inquest in there... *g*
Yeah, NCIS is all about the characters. The stories... yeah, whatever. But they've done such a wonderful job with casting and writing the characters that it keeps me coming back.
And I write who I love, too. If I don't love at least one of the characters I'm writing about, I'm just not terribly interested.
