... anyway. He heads up there. It only takes him a minute or two before he's knocking on her door. ]
[ ... oh, good. That saves him the trouble of having to reach out to her first. Without any hesitation at all he wraps his arms around her and holds her close, shutting his eyes as he rests his cheek against her hair.
Rapunzel. Rapunzel, getting called to war. For all her cleverness and determination and all that magical hair... war is a different beast, and he knows it and it seems like she knows it too. And even though he isn't showing it, he's unspeakably terrified. For himself, sure -- but mostly for her. ]
[ He releases her just enough so he can get a good look at her face, loosing one arm to bring it up and gently touch her face instead. His smile is weak, but it's there. ]

.... about that. [ His smile falls, and he releases her, suddenly uncomfortable. ] ... Rapunzel, I'm not ... going to bring a frying pan. ... I'm getting a sword. A real one.
[She has heard faraway things about battles. They aren't something Mother Gothel has ever educated her about, but Rapunzel knows enough to understand the worst.]
