If you are a fan of chick lit, I recommend Kristin Hannah (her book The Great Alone got me through a very cold spell a couple years ago, DON"T read Firefly Lane or Fly Away. I recently read Five Star Weekend, by Elin Hilderbrand and loved it. Anything by her as well...

I read "One hundred years..." total dreck. Bridge? Two laydees wanted to teach me bridge, I wanted to teach them French...."arrivistes"..."nouvelle riches"....they were total snobs...

I read one of Cynthia Heimel's books and I think I enjoyed it (it's been a while). It was essays about dating, called, "Get Your Tongue Out of My Mouth, I'm Kissing You Goodbye." I didn't realize she also died a couple years ago (just Googled it since you mentioned her).

Cynthia Heimel was a good writer. Very, very funny. But an utter & complete bitch with few redeeming characteristics.
