So tonite myself and a certain Kyle Gardner hit up the town. Thats right folks, and i'm not talking about no A Town. Hitting up A Town is for suckas. I'm talking about where the big kids go to play: Big D. And with both a heavy and proud heart, I tell you that Big D now lays in shambles, as we conquered it. We conquered it long and hard.
After some Mockingbird Station meandering, we met up w/ some of his friends at Daddy Jack's for some supper of love and some strawberry rhubarb pie. I think Rhubarb may be a good name for a pet, maybe not a first name, but a cat's middle name or something. Then we took the scenic route to the ole Gypsy Tea Room, where a little band called Better Than Ezra was scheduled to perform. The Broadcast and Ingram Hill opened. Both were fairly entertaining, especially Broadcast's little lead man with his little emo twirlings and Polish dance moves. Ingram Hill frontman looks a lot like Squints Palodores in his older Freaks and Geeks years. BTE played for quite some time. Lemme tell ya folks, lead singer KG is one goofball, am I right? Oh, I'm right alrite. They played some good stuff, including Lifetime, Rosalia, At the Stars...
Because there may be women and children present, the scene at the gas station following tonite's Better Than Ezra performance has been edited based on content.
I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with life all over again.
