I guess I've been watching the news too much lately, and we all know how emotional that gets...but we talked a lot about Hurricane Katrina at our sorority meeting tonight, and I am so burdened and upset right now. I worry about stupid stuff like friends and popularity, and stuff like this is going on. I just can't believe some of this stuff goes on in the U.S.
Looting.......big screen TVs and sound systems.
A man letting go of his wife's hand as she's carried away by water, and not knowing where to go or what to do with his children.
A sniper on top of a hospital.
Babies dying in their mother's arms of malnutrition.
Drinking water people have defecated or died in.
Looting hospitals for medications.
People shooting at rescue helicopters.
Caskets being uprooted and floating around.
Busses can't get in to the area because they will be swamped with people...so people that need to be evacuated have no where to go.
Precious wetlands being flooded and animals dying.
I'm just really upset over it right now. I feel like there's nothing I can do. I can't donate blood because I just did before I left....there's absolutely nothing going on on campus, I feel like half the people here don't even know what's going on. All they do is complain about gas prices being hiked up or closed and how they can't go home Labor Day weekend. It makes me so mad. Please please please everybody pray about this.
