It's an 80's thing...
Today at work, I was assisting one of the older ladies with her Telxon (read: hand held scanning computer thing). We were trying to reboot it. Usually, when you take the battery out and put it back in, it reboots, but for some reason, this one was holding on to its memory. So I am standing there fiddling with it, when she asks, "Does blowing into it actually help?"
I realized I was caught. I blew into an electronic device to try to make it work. I had to explain myself, lest I look like an idiot. I explained about the Nintendo Entertainment System, and how it had this funky thing where, if it wasn't working, you'd blow into the cartridge to "dust it off" or something. All I know is, it worked. What I didn't know is that I continue to use that method to this very day out of habit!!
