Ponderings on an EXCITING Saturday Night:)

Dec 06, 2008 20:28

Well it is another Saturday night where I am not doing anything. Right now I just put Titanic in to watch while I am drinking a glass of Oops Chardonnay. I have never had that Chardonnay so hopefully it will be good. This was a Noland recommendation if I remember right. Honestly I had forgotten I had it til last week. We will see how I like it. I have opened it so I am committed before the night is over to drink it all:)

I am doing pretty well. I wish I could say that I am ecstatic, but tonight I will have to admit being a little lonely. It happens and in the end it is all good. The last two nights I have just felt like being around people, but alas that could not happen. I even tried going out last night but the bar I stopped in on was pretty much dead. All of this is to be expected this time of year as the weather gets colder. The nice thing about having nights like this, it makes you appreciate the evening you are around others. So I feel good that I can take that away from tonight:)

With my mood tonight Titanic might not be the best movie to watch. It is not a happy movie to say the least, but I have to admit I love this movie. I love it because it is the best movie done on the RMS Titanic. One aspect of the enigma that is me is why I have an obsession about the Titanic. As long as I can remember I had an affinity for that ship and the stories surrounding it. When I was little I made Lego Titanic’s. I even got from my Grandfather a book on the subject that might have been the first book on it. It came out in 1912, which was the same year as the ship sank. This movie really gives the Titanic life as far as its size and luxury. James Cameron did a wonderful job on this movie. So while this movie may not perk me up tonight, it does feel right to watch.

Today more snow dropped on the ground. I am of that attitude right now that if it is going to snow that it should go ahead and bring it on. I am keeping the truce I have with winter and trying not to complain about it. I am doing my best not letting it keep me trapped in the house. Today I walked over to Pay Less to get out a bit and also as an excuse to use the new camera a little bit. The walk was not too bad and it was not too cold really, although I wish my gloves had not forsaken me and stayed at work on my desk…ok maybe they didn’t forsake me, I just forgot them. I prefer to blame the gloves though. I kind of feel like walking this evening, but I don’t think I will do that.

Yesterday Adam told me a news story that I hate to admit amuses me. I guess in Oregon there was a guy that was preparing to propose to his girlfriend on a beach when a three foot wave came crashing in. His girlfriend was short and got swept away into the ocean and was lost. It is one of those stories that is so messed up and so unlikely that we could do nothing but laugh. I especially feel like a bad person because the first thing I wondered was, did he give her the ring before the wave? I mean was he out both the girl and the ring, because if not he at least can return the ring. For those that think this story might not be true, here is the link for it:

I am slowly getting my movies catalogued in a new database. I am up to like five hundred and sixty some movies into it. Still there is a lot of work to go. I am only closing on the halfway point and I have not got to the hard point where I will have to do a great deal of manual work on it. Still I will be happy with the results. Usually with each sitting I try to put thirty of forty titles in. It would not be so bad but it takes the program some time on each title to pull the information of imbd. It is nice already though because it is showing the number of movies I have that I have yet to watch. This month looks like a good time to try to get through them. Unfortunately when I sit down to watch a movie I tend to grab one I have already seen so that I do not have to pay particularly close attention to it.

Well I am through a glass of Oops. It is not bad, although no Chateau St. Jean. Since I need to refill it, I will go ahead and stop here for the evening.
