Thursday T minus five days until the Election
It is Thursday night and I am definitely feeling a little bit tired, but that is probably more the fact that I am sitting here on the couch with Kaiser using me as a pillow. Oh to be as carefree as he is! I do have a right to feel tired though. Today at work was a busy one. I worked through lunch to get back caught up. I am glad I did it, although once again if Mark is still sick tomorrow, it might be a long day.
Yesterday I ended up missing a day of work. Tuesday night I got a headache that would not quit. I ended up with like an hours worth of sleep. If Mark had been at work Monday and Tuesday I probably would have forced myself to go in, but with there being no work in my inbox, I was like screw it. Come to find out it really was a good idea because Mark was sick again and thus it would have been a horrible battle to feel better at work. I am sick of bloody headaches.
Then yesterday evening I got on a cleaning binge. I am not sure why, but the kitchen is looking a hell of a lot better. Afterwards Elissa and Andrew came over. We watch South Park and the second to last episode of the first season of the Wire. Damn that is a a good show. Sadly the last episode is on hold until a later date:(
Tomorrow is Halloween and well this year it is definitely not going to be like previous years. Nothing real exciting. It looks like the plan is sitting my ass at home, probably watching some horror movies and drinking some sweet Oberon. Still the day is a big day because Adam is having a phone interview for a job at Portland State University. So I am very excited for him. I know that he will do well on it. Thus the fact that something so important is finally happening to a friend makes this Halloween well worth it…even if it is a non exciting one for me:)
Saturday was Orion’s Birthday Party, but it looks like Sarah was not able to gather enough people, so she has sadly cancelled. It. I feel bad and was looking forward to the party, but definitely Sarah, who by the way is wonderful party host, should not have to go to all that work if there is not enough people. So it will be another non exciting weekend. Thankfully Tuesday is the election outing and that will be fun. Besides at least I can catch up on my sleep and the beer supply is strong!
On a final point, I want to know when FUCKING ASHCROFT became head of the FCC. I was flipping though the channels and I happened to stop for a few minutes on the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I happened to noticed in the background something odd. In Dr. Frankfurters lab there is a statue of David, you know the famous Michelangelo statue. Well they had BLURRED out its genitelia!?!?!?!?! What the hell, are we really to that point that we are offended by art??? It makes me wonder what they would do with a scene from Naked Gun when Frank Drebin is hanging off the phallus of a statue on the outside of a building!
