lindsay is making a giant cupcake in sculpture. only, she had no idea what size to cut any of her steel panels for the cupcake tissue paper part, how many panels to make, or what angle to bend them, ...basically all she knew was she wanted it to be 19" high 75" inches in circumference around the top and 56.5" around the bottom (which we changed to 55") so i sat with her and worked it all out on paper. Who says art majors dont need to know their numbers??
I came back about an hour later and she had cut everything out of poster board to make a model and she was absolutely thrilled to death at how much like a cupcake paper holder it really looked
