Reasons to be Cranky

Home Depot appears to be discontinuing my favorite style of work glove. The next best thing costs twice as much and everything else either has a seam across the base of the middle two fingers (too much chafing) or is made of materials that will never hold up for very long. Perhaps I will send them a stern note demanding that my specialized needs be catered to.

My computer contracted some kind of nasty spyware. I think this is the first serious virus trouble I have ever had, ever, and certainly the first virus of any kind in as long as I can remember. I have no time to deal with it until the next work session is over.

Then I couldn't find the card with the instructions for connecting new computers to my home network so I could use the work laptop at home. It's one of those things that's always kicking around underfoot until you actually need it. (Fortunately, the random number on the underside of the router turned out to be the network key I needed, which is why I can be on-line now.)

My job is moving to a new space in December and my commute will no longer be walkable. (It may barely be drivable, if I can't find a way to get there without going through downtown during rush hour.) It's said to be much nicer, though, and I'm kind of excited, but I will miss being so close to work. (I'd look into moving, but I love my neighborhood so much, I'd marry it if that were legal in my state.)

I only have a one hour window tomorrow between when my polling place opens and the time I would have to leave for home so I can get on the road at a decent time - and early morning is supposed to be one of the busiest times! I plan to get there at least an hour early, with a thermos and a book, but I will have to get up at the absolute crack of dawn to do it.

ELECTION ANXIETY. I will be a wreck tomorrow, I just know it. My crew has suggested we all pile up together in someone's motel room for an election night party and get really drunk. This might be the best solution, even if we're more or less useless the next day. Perhaps some sort of Wolf Blitzer drinking game could be involved.

There will be more Transformers movies but still no word on a GoBots movie adaptation.
