What does the 4th of July mean to me? How thoughtful of you to ask!!

Join me tomorrow in cheering on America's Great White Hope.

My hometown is awesome.

To help put this in perspective, Japan's Takeru Kobayashi has won the last 5 contests. In 2000, Japan's Kazutoyo Arai set a world record by eating 25 1/8 hot dogs in 12 minutes. No Beth, even I can't do that. In 2001, Kobayashi showed up and ate 50 hot dogs in 12 mintues. He has since bested this TWICE. Last year he ate 49. 2nd place went to Sonya "Black Widow" Thomas, a naturalized South Korean who, technically and American, set the American (and women's) record at 37.

So come on America: Let's forget about our recent emberassments in Olympic skiing, America's Cup Sailing, World Baseball Classic, and World Cup Soccer. Cheer on our champion!
