CHAPTER 5

Up in the room, Bam found a few form-fitting shirts, though he wasn't outwardly or inwardly happy about it. Ryan, however, wasn't complaining. Bam finally stopped turning around as he looked in the mirror and sighed, and plopped down on the bed. He and Ryan had gone through the entire room looking for anything that moved. Ryan had jumped at a tiny mouse that passed from under the fridge to under the stove.

"Mice?!" Ryan had squeaked.

"Yep," Bam chuckled, looking at the other man, "and you sound just like one."

Ryan glared at the other man. "Shut up, Tattoo." Bam had just rolled his eyes at Ryan's attempt to "burn" him. Since the car ride where Bam was missing a both shirt and a pair of shoes, Ryan had been poking fun at his tribute tattoo to Ville's band along his side.

"So… I’ve seen you 'round West Chester," Bam started, feeling like talking. He rolled over onto his back on the bed, turning his head to watch Ryan do the same. "But you're not from there, are you?"

"No," replied Ryan. "Helped my mom and stepdad move down here when I was nineteen, and I moved with them. I'm from Ohio."

"Ohio," Bam repeated as he tried to supress a smile. "...What's in Ohio?"

"If there was anything in Ohio, I'd be there instead of here, now wouldn't I?" Ryan said. "Besides. I'd probably be dead if I was still in Ohio. And I like Pennsylvania."

Bam nodded, turning his head back to the ceiling. "I'll tell you straight out, Ryan, I wanna know you. So I'll start with the basics. What's your favorite color?"

"Blue," Ryan stated. He turned onto his side facing Bam. "What's your favorite food?"

"I really like Italian food. My Grandmother makes the best cookies," Bam began to gush. "She makes these cookies that're like chocolate wafers and they go great with ice cream. And she makes this dish... It really doesn't have a name, but it's an Italian dish, yeah? And it's filled with pasta and meats and stuff. What's your favorite food?"

"I guess it'd be potatoes," Ryan said simply, rubbing the back of his neck in thought. "I mean, they go with anything. Steak, chicken, fish... And I guess I've been forced to eat them all my life."

"Yeah," Bam laughed. "My uncle, Ville nicknamed him Don Vito, loves veal scallopini. He's already fat, right? Like, huge. And he usually only eats hoagies and cake and chicken wings and veal scallopini, but he'll eat anything you give him."

"Sounds like an aunt of mine," Ryan commented with a grin.

"Phil, we're in the nice Hilton," April said over the phone. "We've just settled in. Raab's sleepin' next door just in case anything happens. When'll you be here?"

"I'm not sure," Phil replied. "There's this roadblock between New York and Pennsylvania, and we just got through it. It could be tomorrow morning."

"Well, who all's with you?"

"There's Jess, and Vito, and then Rake, Dico, Chad, Deron, and me," Phil said. "They were with us at the concert, and then at the hotel. Jess stuffed 'em in the car this mornin' and Vito kinda complained-"

"Phil," April scoffed, "Vito never *kind of* complains. He either doesn't or he goes all out."

"Well, he complained and now we're going through Pennsylvania."

"I love you Phil," April said sincerely.

"I love you too, April," Phil replied in earnest. "Don't worry, we'll get there."
~
"So you did WHAT?" Ryan asked with a laugh.

"I put dog shit in his shoes," Bam shrugged unperturbed. He sat up as to tell another story. "Another time, with Raab... Well, he was sleepin' on my couch, right? An' I got this great idea to cut his pants off. So I got the scissors and I was cuttin' along. I got out his wallet an' he had this picture of his kind of ex-wife. They never really divorced but she moved away. So we've been planning this trip to find her... She's foreign, from Russia or something. It was kinda a dare to get him a mail-order bride, but we went to Vegas for Ape and Phil's anniversary and she flew in... Phil and Ape got remarried and Raab and her got married. It was pretty damned fun."

"It sounds like it."

"What about you?" Bam asked out of the blue.

"Huh?"

"You're love life. What about your love life?" Bam clarified. "Are you married? Are you dating?"

"I..." Ryan hesitated, and Bam started to freak. 'IS he married? Or worse... is he married AND have kids?!'

"Well, you should know," Ryan sighed, and Bam's anxiety increased. "I'm gay."

"Oh, thank god," Bam mumbled breathily. He paused. "...Er... Um, I guess I'm bi, but I've never, ya know, been with another guy."

"I could kinda tell," Ryan smiled, holding up two fingers a short distance apart, "but only a bit." Ryan looked at Bam curiously. "What about Jenn?"

"She's dead," replied Bam with a sad sigh. "I had to kill her."

Ryan gawked before coming to sit next to Bam. "I'm so sorry." Ryan looped an arm around Bam's shoulders. "I had no idea... Are you all right? I mean, things like that can traumatize a person for life! My mom, when she was little, watched her dog get run over. I know it's not the same thing, but she always cries whenever she sees animals that got hit by cars. Are you sure you're okay?"

Bam nodded, leaning in to Ryan's shoulder with a large sigh. "It could, but I've been putting it out of my mind." Bam looked up at Ryan and almost flinched back at how close their faces were. Almost. "The... the company helps."

"Really?" Ryan said huskily, leaning his face closer to Bam's. Bam closed his eyes and leaned up, ready to kiss the other man he found attractive...

...When the door banged open. The two jumped apart to see the laughing Jess Margera, Chad Ginsburg, and Deron Miller at the door. Jess and Deron hadn't seen the pair on the bed so close, but the mood had been broken long before Chad gave them a knowing look.

"We're here!"

-->END CHAPTER 5.

A/N: Another filler, kind of. I guess it does help the plot, but I dunno. I wanted to get this chapter out of the way so not only will you, my faithful readers (HI EVERYONE!), be able to read, but also now I can move on. Gah, these last two chapters were hard to get through! I'm sorry it took so long to update, but I get so little time on this computer now. Tell me what you think and REVIEW!!
