Pretty Good Weekend, But I Ache

We hit the Renaissance Festival on Sunday. It had been two years since we were able to make it out. Apparently we had been missed . People have been asking around about us. That was nice to hear. We renewed some friendships and met some new folks. I think I even got a job offer for next year. I need to pursue that since it is with a glass blower. I have done some glass blowing with him and I have to say it is a great deal of fun. If you ever get the chance, do it. Wife® was able to make it around the site a few times - we ended up spending about 5 1/2 - 6 hours out there. It was a good time. It helped us both realize how much we have missed working there.

We did end up spending some money.  Wife® bought a hair pin from the Bronze Jewelers - who we know fairly well and had thought retired - and I ordered a pair of custom shoes. Oh, Wife® also ordered a fused glass straw with an owl on it - A close friend of one of our close friends makes them. I am also seriously debating another purchase. I would like a rams head torque. The F & D of the Bronze Jewelers make them. The issue I have is either $90 for nickel or $280 for silver. While silver would be fantastic and the preference for the purpose of the torque, we really cannot afford that. If nickel will be acceptable I will likely go that route.

As for the ache, I did that today. I spent four hours hunched over a woodworking project sanding it by hand. My back is really sore. Of course I found my stash of paper for my power sander while I was grabbing some supplies to apply the finish. Oh well. My arms got a needed workout. On the upside, I have the first coat of finish applied. I would like to apply on coat per night this week so this will be ready for Sunday.

My weekend was only two days (all the holidays lately have been Mondays, my normal day off) but it was still a pretty good weekend. I am taking Thursday off as well so that will be a nice break in the week.
