First Day of Class/First Night to Party

Sep 01, 2005 18:17

Made it through the first day of classes. I wasn't so sure how everything was going to work out with all the walking and only 15 minutes between to get there, but I managed. Well, I half-sprinted a time or two, but I made it. Jazz seems like it's going to be a fun class, plus the teacher said it's an easy A if we just do the work. Genetics is going to eat me alive if it's anything like orgo, but I'm hopeful. It's sounding like a commitment of several hours a week, a lot like orgo wound up being. I am better at bio than chem, but that's not saying too much. Chem250, the charming little class I have to take because of the freshman orgo glitch (you get 1 semester of credit for gen chem from the AP and skip straight into orgo as a freshman, but you need 2 semesters of it for pre-med requirements). Chem141 is too easy for us now apparently, so they made this special little class just for us and the few weirdos taking it for reasons unknown to me. The teacher is one of those men you can tell has been socially retarded his entire life and is quirky to the point you can't have a normal conversation with him. He whipped out a digital camera to take pics of us to learn names, which was pretty strange since there are like 10 of us. When he got to my name on the roll, he paused and looked really confused then said my name with no trouble. That was weird enough, but then he said, "Your parents weren't mountaineers by any chance, were they?" It caught me so off-gaurd that I'm sure I looked at him like he was insane. Then he lectured for an hour on lots of topics that had nothing to do with each other. I totally zoned out for his entire lecture, which is bad but I really couldn't help it. After class from 8:30 to 12:45 straight with sprinting in between, I was ready to pass out in the room. As soon as I get back, Tracy said that Dixie (the hamster from hell for those not acquainted with her yet) had disappeared when she got up from her desk for like 30 seconds. So we looked all over the room, pulled everything out from under the bed, and freaked out a bit for at least 30 minutes, then decided to just take a nap. I had been asleep for awhile when I woke up hearing this scratching noise. I followed the noise over to the desk/table thing and finally wound up at my printer on the shelf right next to the desk. I open it up to see Dixie's white ass curled up in the corner. Keep in mind I'm still not happy with her from yesterday for biting my hand (it really hurts) and we got pissed when we were looking for her. It took us about 15 more minutes to shake her out of the printer. Tracy thought it was hilarious since I was half-asleep, in my underwear and trying to shake a hamster out of a printer. After that, I slept for awhile then woke up and played with Dixie. We're much cooler with each other now. She doesn't bite me and I don't call her a bitch anymore. She is one stupid-ass hamster though. She likes to jump off of high things. Natural selection I guess. Since then, I've taken a shower and we're just chillin' until the hall meeting at 8. After that, we're doing something, although I'm not sure what. What i do know is that it will involve lots of alcohol. We may wander frat row to visit our friends around there, or head out to Eleven50 or Masquerade for the Emory club party things. Either way, I plan on mackin the entire time, no matter where we are...
On another happy note, Teenie's coming to Atlanta next week...can't wait for that one.
Girls, we need to plan some time for another visit with all of us.
