The fourth part to Up The Road is going to be a bit late. I had a fight, or another fight with my ex. I wish he'd just drop it.
Anyway, it's over for now. I have to rush off to work soon, but I thought I'd write something quickly before leaving.
Harry hesitated, his breath caught in his throat. Draco was asleep, his eyelashes straight and light in the soft glow of the candles Harry had placed about the room. He couldn't stop looking. Draco was almost never this unguarded, and it made Harry savour the experience.
The pale face and blonde locks were lighting the room, almost. Draco seemed so much more radiant from within when he was sleeping. It wasn't something Harry got to see often. He'd always be spent afterwards, wanting to speak, to talk about something, but Draco would always hush him and wrap steady, if not weary, arms around him. Harry couldn't resist the warmth of Draco's surprisingly warm body, and he'd always fall asleep.
Perhaps it was different because it was now winter. Whatever the reason, Harry was happy taht he'd finally gotten a chance to get to see Draco. The blankets covered them both, but Harry pulled it back slightly, exposing the soft, white chest, watching it as it elevated and pulled back down again with each of Draco's breath. It was mesmerising.
Draco's lips were partly open and Harry could not stop himself from leaning down, tasting the breath and warmth and all that there was to Draco. It was a totally new experience, and he relished in it.
He didn't remember falling asleep, but he must have, for Draco was shaking him awake again. Harry fell into his clothes clumsily, muttering at how Draco's wake-up pinches were possibly the worst invention in all of history.
But as Draco slid into his own clothes, Harry couldn't help noticing the skin once more, and how it seemed more taut now, more under Draco's control than it had been while the Slytherin Prince had been asleep.
Harry smiled, squeezing Draco's hand in his, ignoring the look of astonishment as the tenderness, and placing one more kiss onto the lips he'd tasted during the night.
"Thanks," said Harry.
Draco said nothing, but Harry could see lingering happiness in those changed eyes.
