Off to the far east

Have purchased tickets, organized gear, not enough money, and no real agenda.

As of the 11th, Jen and I head for Bangkok to catch up with Orlagh, eventually Anna, and hopefully Sarah. The first few weeks with the girls will probably be spent falling off elephants, drinking cheap beers, getting kicked from temples, and other such mischief.
Traveling with this group is an adventure in itself. My last trip with them was spent in Ireland with the lot of us packed into a matchbox of a car on a sugar high zooming along the bumpy bike paths they call roads. It was a great time, and they are excellent travelers. We learned to surf near Tralee, and went hunting for dolphins in Dingle bay during the lovely month of January. We also found ourselves sneaking in to a salsa class, attempting to blend in.

After the girls leave, Jen and I head for somewhere. The first few months will probably involve more Thailand, some Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and possibly a bit of Indonesia (such as touristy Bali and Lombok) and a stop through Singapore.

Beyond that its probably up into China, north to Beijing, and possibly over to Mongolia. That'll depend mostly on the weather at that point.

Eventually we plan to make our way down to Australia and New Zealand, where we will probably be broke. Beyond that we have a flight back to London, where we hope to catch a cheap trip over to Gotenburg or Dublin for a bit.

Setting up a website to blog in, which should be ready to go by then. Don't think I"ll be on here much, but you'll be able to catch up at malevolentsam.com, once its finished. Still looking for another domain to use, and I'll update once I have.
