There's a headline on the DrudgeReport which says: "Political aide fired after admitting role in spreading rumors in Maryland..." I haven't read the article (and probably won't). But what stood out to me is that due to the wording of that headline, it looks like the reason the aide may have been fired is because he/she _admitted_ his/her role rather than because of the action of spreading the rumors itself. And, frankly, that's probably the reason the aide was fired anyway.
