(no subject)
What a fun day I'm having so far.
Remember my old laptop? The one that died? Well, mam claimed under the house insurance and received a nice new laptop which she's keeping!
Then she decides she wants to be connected to the internet. My internet.
Now, that's fine. Really, it is. But when dad goes out to buy a wireless router without telling me, and comes back and gives to mam to give to me to deal with myself, that's when I start to get annoyed.
For starters, I don't have a spare socket to plug the goddamn thing into. Then it turns out that the goddamn wires don't even reach from everthing (i.e. the phone socket) to everything else (i.e. the computer), but hey, they reach to the router if I leave them all stretched across my bedroom.
So now, I have to sort my bedroom out. Get rid of junk (including my fucking dresser), and rearrange my furniture.
Surprisingly enough, all that is fine and doable. But what's more is that when my 'all nice and considerate' parents first carpeted out this room (it wasn't mine then) they did not nail it down!
So I'm going to have loads of fun over the next few days sorting out this room just for her. With a carpet that likes to move WITH the furniture.
Yay me.
(note: currently going through the FFXI update, and not a damn thing's happening in here until it's done. And they're going to be told that too.)
