I think this has been the busiest weekend of the last year or so…

The past few days were loooooooong. I need a nap.

Thursday: Went to Jacksonville to the Steve Vai concert with Mike. It was really good, but it was general admission, so you could barely see. I sort of peeped between people’s heads on the balcony and caught a glimpse every now and then. However, I did decide that I really do have something for black guys who play guitar. My husband, obviously. But also, Tony MacAlpine was playing keys and guitar for Steve and… He is really sexy. LOL Anyway, got home from that at almost 2 AM and got up at 6 for work. Fun.

Friday: Took a half day off of work and went to Orlando to see urbanelegend. We met her for dinner at Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West. Had a great time laughing, reminiscing, etc. Then Mike and I head back because I had to be up at butt-thirty for…

Saturday: The yearly Charlie Foxtrot known as Kanapaha Garden Festival. For some reason, our squadron keeps volunteering to park cars at this two-day event. We were really really shorthanded this year. I worked from 7 Am to 7 PM on Saturday. Got my left ear sunburned. Came home and CRASHED at 8 PM. Didn’t even eat dinner.

Sunday: Day two of the madness. One would think a festival of gardeners would be peaceful and serene. One would think. One would be wrong. Everyone is “special.” Everyone wants a special parking space. Everyone thinks it is cool to scowl and curse at teenagers who are volunteering their entire weekend for these jerks to come and buy a funnel cake and a flippin orchid. Ugh.

Was supposed to go see Elton John last night. He cancelled. He’s “sick.” Booo. Hmph. Maybe they’ll reschedule. I was upset, but Suzy and I made the best of it and had a girls’ night out, drinks, etc. at this cajun place called Po’ Boys. It was pretty good. They had chips…and “other chips.” (Inside joke.)

Today: Jury duty. And yes, I was selected for trial. Tomorrow. They expect the trial to only last one day, so I’ve got my fingers crossed.

Tomorrow: My little brother Martin is coming to visit til Saturday. Can’t wait to see him. I will try to take lots of pics.
