when you consider the fact that in africa, people walk 4-6 miles a day just to get water to drink and cook with, it makes the idea of sprinkler systems to keep the lawn looking green seem absolutely repulsive. water is such a scarce resource and our plentiful amounts is an illusion. i have heard people predict that wars will be fought over it. water supply and demand is a huge source of contention among some countries.

not to mention the wastefulness of water bottles, which are made out of plastic (produced using oil) and are rarely recycled.
