Happy St. Pattys!
So, I was supposed to work 4-10 tonight at BJ's... St. Patrick's day- a busy night for a bar/restaurant! So, Before I went in, I started feeling REALLY achy- from my neck, through my shoulders, and all the way down my back... Whatever- I figured maybe sex was too rough... haha, well, it wasn't muscular pain, it was just aches all throughout my back, so I was like... hmmm, shit- I think I'm getting sick! I mean, I have had a little bit of a sore throat the past few days... So, I took an Advil and went to work, miserably... and I keep feeling shitty- all of a sudden my head and neck are HOT and my hands are cold, i kept getting chills and goose bumps, and one of the glands on my neck was SWOLEN! So, I was kinda bitching around, I asked one of the hosts to see if I felt hot...
well, I though no one cared and that I'd just be miserable until 10, but the manager came out of nowhere and said "You can go home, honey" I was like "what??" because I hadn't told her I wasn't feeling well. She said "You're sick, go home" (She didn't look too pleased) So I got out of working... on St. Patty's Day! I hope she doesn't think that I'm NOT going out tonight, because I totally AM! Well, once I got home (after 30 minutes of digging my car out of the parking lot at work b/c I left it there last night) my Advil kicked in, my back doesn't really hurt anymore and my sore throat & 'fever' have subsided... for now :) But still! Now I can take a LONG ass nap and stay up all night!
I cheated the system and I didn't even try!
On a shittier note, my grandpa is dying, they just gave him about a month to live, so now I have to go to Michigan next weekend for a "Berner Family Reunion" one last time before my grandpa dies... sad... and then I'll have to go back again for the funeral, whenever that will be... So, it's shitty and melancholy... but I'll be happy to see my cousins who I haven't seen in YEARS! They're giving 2 of my cousins emergency leave of absence from the Army and Air Force- they're bringing my cousin home from GERMANY... wow... So, I get to look forward to two 7 or 8 hour drives to detroit and back next weekend... oh, joy
By the way... I hate snow! I think everyone who KNOWS me, knows that... but it was 65 degrees a few days ago, and OUT OF NOWHERE lake eerie decided that pennsylvania needed OVER a foot of snow!! Goddamn it! I had to leave my car at work and have TJ pick me up after work yesterday and I spent the LONGEST time digging myself out after I got cut from work... I HATE SNOW!! Well, since the "Valentines Day" snow finally just melted, the rivers are all REALLY high and as soon as the "St. Patty's Day" snow melts, we're going to FLOOD... BAD!!
Anyways, Happy St. Patrick's day to all! I hope you drink lots of green beer tonight!!
