Chemotherapy

My chemotherapy certification class starts this week.  What that means is that after the class and a probationary period, I will be able to infuse chemo on my own.  I've been awaiting this impatiently for a year now because I do work on an oncology floor and whenever I have a patient who needs chemo, I have to get a different nurse to do it.  This is frustrating because we are all busy enough with our own patients let alone finding time for the lengthy process of chemo.

Well, now that the time has come, it's a bit nerve racking.  I mean, it's running highly toxic substances into someones body.  That's in addition to the insane amount of knowledge that comes with the classes.  Ug, June is not looking like a fun month.  At least if it were warm and sunny it'd be a bit cheerier.
