A Quick Guide to Delicious

Dec 04, 2010 00:52

Delicious is a social bookmarking service that allows users to tag, save, manage and share web pages. Think of the tags as dynamic folders that adapt to your needs at any moment.

If you go to the main page for our account, you'll see the most recently tagged prompts on the left side, and a list of tags and tag bundles on the right.

Like I said, tags are like folders, and tag bundles are folders that organize those folders. For example, inside the bundle Characters you'll find the tags [rachel], [kurt] and [finn], among others. Click on them and it'll take you to every prompt and fill related to that specific character.

The different bundles that you'll find are:
  • Actors: {mark}, {dianna}, {naya}...
  • Characters: [rachel], [kurt], [finn]...
  • Date: It'll take you to all the prompts that got filled during that particular month.
  • Genre: (slash), (femslash), (rpf)...
  • Kink: !anonymity, !oralsex, !roleplay...
  • Misc: mainly for ·crossovers and ·mcf (Misplaced Comment Fics)
  • Pairing: #quinn/rachel, #finn/kurt/puck, #will/emma...
  • Status: --Filled, --Unfilled, --WIP

Once you're familiar with the format of the different tags, you'll be able to find what you want using the search box at the top:

You can type as many tags as you want, and it'll only return the prompts that contain all of them.

It can look a bit intimidating at first, but once you get used to it, it's a great bookmarking tool. Let me know if you have any doubts or questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them.
