Ofic: Out, part 21

Jul 26, 2009 15:43

I'm still catching up with reviews, but I do have to say one more time, a great thanks to all of you who read and comment on my fics ^__^ It's what makes me stick to my writing schedule and post once a week when possible (I'm a great procrastinator usually) For me, writing is a little like exercising. It's fun, but only after I've been doing it for ( Read more... )

"Ryou was trying to shake off the mental image of an imperturbable English butler..."
TRUTH. Rand is this world's version of Alfred, it has been written.

"Rand's cloak, still with him since yesterday, was handed to him without a word. While he sorted that out, Rand kneeled and laced up Ryou's shoes for him. Ryou was really going to have to find a way of asking the man who he was and what position he held in King Leyam's court."
I really adore Rand for being a total BAMF and still being able to dress a confused, out-of-place grown man.

"ineluctably"
Oooo, shiny new word for mah vocabulary.

"It was going to find him, invade him from a direction that should not even exist and lay its children in his brain."
FKSDJFLDS CREEPY! And reminds me of a botfly, which multiplies its creepiness by unfathomable amounts, eewwwww ::runs::

"The two large hounds scrambled to their feet where they'd been sitting near their master and stared at Ryou with much the same expression of astonishment."
The puppies are back, yay!

"A furry feeling made him glance down. One of the large hounds had put its head on the bed over Ryou's hands, and was looking up at him soulfully."
Awwww, puppies always know when somethings wrong and they try to help, oh yes they do!

""Do you like dogs?" he asked over the ecstatic writhing and whimpering that resulted."
I clearly love these doggies, but unfortunately when they entered, my mind broke into massive amounts of baby-talk and "who's a good doggy? YOU are, oh yes, you are!" which hampered my reading ability quite a bit.

"That son of a sick goat, Terentius - whom I otherwise love like a brother"
A glowing recommendation, if I've heard one.

"You told me much about your home, even if I'm too dumb a mutt to understand it all, but there's one thing you didn't tell me. Do they suck cock in the Inlands?"
I thought you were going to end it here, with a sexy cliff and I was rather miffed. And then you ended it where you did and now I want MOAR! Instant gratification, ftw!

In regards to your opening note, I'm so glad our reviews have sustained your writing because even though once a week is damn fast (and kudos for that, btw) IT'S NOT FAST ENOUGH. Having something to look forward to is all fine and good, but this unholy fidgeting for the next chapter is wearing grooves in my carpet.

Caught a typo on a second, more coherent and less sleep-deprived run: ""What?" croaked Ryou, overly aware that the only walls separating them from a camp full of soldiers were made of canvans." Did you mean "the only walls separating them from a camp full of soldiers were made of canvas"?

Ah yes, thanks *fixes typo*

I was originally going to end it on Darius's question too, but then Darius and Ryou sulked about that, so I had to write a little more :P

Those puppies always know what's called for, whether it's ripping a man's lungs out or giving Ryou some fuzzy comfort ^_^;
