It's the first arc of a series of related stories that I would LIKE to write. I'd like it even more if they were already written, but alas they exist only in my head, and very tenuously at that for some of them.

As for the inception of this idea...oh my *embarrassed laugh* it came after reading a whole lot of yaoi manga ^^; I don't know why, but it totally fuelled my imagination. Now ask me why it fuelled it to write a fic that's twenty chapters in before any boinking is seen...Part of it was that I wanted to recreate the raw attraction between two people that overflows in yaoi manga. Only THIS time, the physically weaker person would NOT be a total wimp (so you're right there). I certainaly think I nailed some of the sensuality I was half-consciously aiming for, even though maybe that's just in my own mind, and in consideration of the fact that most of the characters I write are more prickly and complicated than sensual. Another part is that I love the shock of bamf fics, especially if they're done fairly right, as I hope this one is. Finally, I wanted a fantasy-type setting that was not medieval Europe or Three Kingdoms China :P

...The creative process is the strangest thing, when I reread what I started with - and damn, I can half remember my first mental sketches of this fic, quite different in tone and details. But still, I can't figure out even now how I got to this fic. I'm liking the result, however it came about, and it fired up my love of writing again, which had been getting lazy these past few months.
