GW: Freeport Chapter 3 (rewrite)

Third chapter. Thanks once more for the reviews, typo-spotting and encouragements; they encourage me to fight RL to the death and drag some spare time from its steaming carcass in which to work on this *ducks as simile spins out of control*

The hair curlers! And of course probably my favorite line out of this whole story; "...Scythe, the small creak you're hearing isn't the sound of my joints after a fifteen hour shift and it isn't the sound of the deck coordinator's nerves slowly stretching to a snapping point; it's the sound of my tiny violin cryin' over the fact you have to haul ass a few hundred meters more than ya want to."

This chapter was one of my favorite chapters, probably because of the aforementioned hair curlers and quote but also because it is basically the start of the extreme culture shock for Wufei and Duo messing with him.

I probably should've looked closer for typos or anything like that but I was just too excited. But from reading it, I didn't see anything too glaring...

This is probably going to be the norm from now on and I'm not against giving any ego-boosting to those who deserve it; "One of the best fanfictions out there!"

*is ego-boosted* ^__^

(The hair curlers is actually a RL story told to me by a biologist working in Tanzania...)

(reposted to fix an embarrassing HTML error)

I absolutely adore this story--coincidentally, I finished re-reading the original version posted to your MediaMiner account recently, and it was also a compelling read the second time through. There aren't many stories that can grab me if I've already read them once.

I don't know if I've said this before, but I read your Gundam Wing stories before I ever saw the series, and boy, was the series ever a letdown after spending time with your Wufei and your Heero!

Okay, nit-pick time...

He grunted a second time as Duo handed him a sheath of papers;

Shouldn't that be a sheaf of papers, like a sheaf (bundle) of wheat? Unless you mean to say that the papers are tucked into one of those plastic report-folder thingies...

Ah yes, sheaf is correct *fixes* Thanks!

Lol, it's always hard starting a series by reading the fics. I try to avoid it, usually. I'm glad the second read worked sa well as the first, that is usually a good sign ^_^

Hair curlers and Colony Tattoos, oh my!

And yet when I sit and think about it, I can so totally see both happening.

*luvz on the worldbuilding like whoa*

The worldbuilding was the fun bit ^__^ That, and writing the other inhabitants. Though the boys were fun to write too! Mrow, mental eye candy...

I am forcing myself to hold off on reading this until you've got all the chapters done. ^_^ The glimpses I've allowed myself are looking awesome, though. Oh, the temptation!!

Courage! Only thirty one more weeks to go ^__^ (Man, that tires me out just thinking about it...that's over half a year. I might start accelerating at some point.)

Yeah - having gone through the agony of waiting for the updates of the original version, I can't bring myself to face it again. It's too much for me!! XD

I remember reading all your stories and... er, not ever leaving feedback BUT! I am now. Because you are rewriting this and it makes me so, so happy. It just flows better and shows how far you have gone as a writer.

I'm so looking forward to more of this.

Thanks! That was one reason I really wanted to tackle this again; I loved the story, but I think my form has improved a lot since my GW days. I'm glad it shows ^_^
