looooooooove this fic. And the snark, and the one-liners, and how you can see the world through Lee's eyes without making him one-dimensional comic relief but still notice that the rest of the world thinks he's batshit nuts and have them both be surprisingly right about it...

looooooooove. ♥ ♥ ♥

Lol! Couldn't have said it better myself. Lee has a strange sort of inner logic that is not quite like Earth Logic. But he sure comes from a nice planet ^_^ As for the one-liners...when Lee's around, they tend to crawl out of the woodwork :) The boy's an author's dream, I tells ya!!

Glad you loved it!

yay for a happy Mal! i was suffering diplomatic relations withdrawal, but i'm a lot better now ^^ i'm going to re-read this as soon as i'm done typing, and i'm very, very glad to know that you're feeling more comfortable again. i had a story where the first few chapters were completely standalone, then realized that a plot might actually be a good idea, even if they were like mini-arcs within the story.

at every line, i'm wondering when lee's just going to not be paying close enough attention to what he's doing and totally let something slip. you're so skilled at making me think "oh god...lee's really going to just-" *squeals* okay, intelligent (or halfway intelligent) thought time is over. i'm reading it again. good luck with the next chapter!

Thanks ^_^

Lee was loopy enough to spill the beans about his feelings, if the conversation had happened to go in that direction. Fortunately (unfortunately?), nobody mentioned Lee's dreams or anything that might have led to that particular confession. Gaara's gonna have to figure it out at a later date (or Lee can hit him with the clue-bat. Yeah, that'll work as well...)

*tackle glomps*

You know Mal, it's entirely your fault that I now find Lee such a brilliant character, so thanks. *grins*

And Gaara of course, Gaara rules. But Lee is just so completely unorthadox that he defies all cliches and when rips open his gates without hesitation, wow, just damn (and very exciting) and this line:

Look at me, Gai-sensei, Gaara...be proud of me. This is my Shinobi way.

Perfect.

And I loved the whole interaction between them at the end, despite the stress and injury there was still a whole new level of intimacy between them that probably rates as high romance in jounin-world. And also, Gaara tongue XD

Oh yes, mustn't neglect mentioning Gaara tongue :P

Lee's a fantastic character to write; he's like Naruto, so 100% and honest and pure. Except when he starts having 'involving' thoughts about Gaara, but who's about to blame him for that...Glad you liked it ^_^

Oh. Oh my. Lucky, lucky Lee. Gaara licked him. ::drool::

Anyway, wonderful, wonderful chapter. I'm all tense and can't wait for the next bit of action, danger, and romance. I am loving this fic so much. I recently read the entire Naruto manga in about three days, and I'm obsessed with Gaara. He and Lee really would be kinda cute together. And Gai and Lee aren't as bad as some make them out to be. I have to run, so this is a crap review, but I LOVED IT. ::hugs::

Action, danger, romance coming right up, next weekend ^_^ I could read a good Gai/Lee if the author situated with Lee at 16+ years of age. Below that...no, just no. I see them more as father/son, though; that 'pairing' rocks my socks ^_^

Um, I dunno about as a pairing, cause most teacher/student squicks me until they grow up, but the two personalities aren't as bad as people make them out to be. ^^; I never read them as a pairing other than father/son or some other platonic one.

YEAY! More DR.

My suspicion is planted firmly on Gaara's obliviousness, but I can't think who would have given him the birds and the bees talk to make that touch more than it is.

Love for protective Lee and his leg warmers, the surest blinding weapon in all of Fire country. This chapter was sweet but felt unbearably right. Gaara deserves more cuddles, and so does Lee. They're so touch deprived.

I'm too overdosed on teh sugar to be coherent. *clings*

A point that will come up again in the future ^_^

Gaara does know a bit about the birds and the bees (we'll see how he learned about it in a later chapter), but unfortunately, he's still thinking of himself as separate from the human race. He wouldn't think to apply his knowledge to his own situation. So...yeah, completely oblivious why his licking water off of Lee's face flustered poor Lee-baby. Oh well, he'll figure it out eventually...
