Table-top soundtracks

Sep 02, 2010 22:50

Since I spent several hours today thinking these up, I thought I'd bother sharing them with a wider audience.

The prompt, offered by a friend on facebook:

Challenge for my table-top gamer friends: Step One- Out of all of the characters you have played, who is your favourite? Step two- Come up with a five song playlist of that characters favourite songs. Post results here.

Unable to decide, I put together the following two lists:
Dave, a hairless dwarven monk who turned out to be nearly unkillable in a run through Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil:
* Turbonegro - Hobbit Motherfucker
* Pink Steel - Frodonator
* Speck - Conventional Lover
* iwrestledabearonce - Tastes Like Kevin Bacon
* Digital Orgasm - Running Out of Time

More information about Dave can be found on the internet: http://www.mcghiever.com/miniatures/temple.htm

My Lovecraftian mage (I forget his name) from a sinister_dr_x's home-brewed campaign:

* Metallica - The Call of Ktulu
* Metallica - The Thing That Should Not Be
* Pig - Hamstrung on the Highway (in honor of xcorvis' character)
* Jonathan Coulton - Mandelbrot Set
* Black Sabbath - Behind the Wall of Sleep

There were probably other songs that apply better, since one of the frequent motifs of the game was powers inspired by songs or bands, but it was over ten years ago and these are the only bits I remember clearly.

So what'd I get wrong? Input from those familiar with these events would be awesome.

gaming, stupid gaming jokes
