I'm alive!
Sorry--I just realized that I hadn't cross-posted from my FA journal to here. Ike was merely a minor inconvenience. Corpus--where my family and I evacuated--got none of it. Friends stayed at my place for nearly a week until power came back for them. So I got a mini vacation and lots of time with friends out of the deal. I also took some photos of Ike's damage between where I live in the SW Houston area and downtown Houston.
In other news, I'm hoping to start work at the local music store soon--the manager's really keen on hiring me. Paperwork's turned in and everything, so all that's left now is a background check and then I should start. Not quite as much pay/hours as I'd want, but it's definitely better than nothing. Also, I've finally got my first paid commission. Woohoo! It's only an arrangement, but hey! It's awesome to know that my skills are actually wanted to the point of being marketable.
