Okay, with Edouard rapidly on its way, it's possible that I'll be losing Internet/power/cell phone service here tomorrow, so in case you don't see me about, just keep in mind what's going on here in the Greater Houston Area.
In month-past news, Sally Kern's got some fresh competition in political stupidity, only from the other end of the spectrum. Some
douchebag judge in Dallas actually considers "black hole" a racist term. But he's willing to use the term
"white hole" in its stead--because obviously, it's okay to be racist against Whitey. This guy lives and works for the city of Dallas....I think it would be poignantly funny to organize thousands of people from all over the nation to get their hands on a basic science textbook used in the Dallas public schools, highlight passages explaining just what a "black hole" is, and spam mail his office with them.
In better news, you guys need--NEED--to watch
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. It's a 42-minute film by Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy and Firefly, released exclusively online. It's got Neil Patrick Harris as a supervillian for your antihero, and he actually sings pretty decently--yes, it's a musical. A tragicomedy musical. And it's pure gold. So take three quarters of an hour of your time and watch it.
That's it for now. And I have a sore throat.
