Oh my Christ. I have to get writing my spn_comingcleanfic. It is le awesome; or it will be, anyway. AND I have to
a) figure out all of my essay topics and begin researching D:
b) get going on my stupid bigbang thing. I have 852301567942352 ideas. That's not a good thing.
c) READ DANGEROUS LIAISONS OMG.
And eww, class at 8 am tomorrow. Ah well, it'll be a good time to get some homework done. HAHA I pay no attention. And I've been sleeping a LOT recently. I mean, I'm tired all the time.
I've been trying to work up the proper amount of righteous indignation to go on a rant defending the word "like." But I'm kind of tired. So instead I'll just say this. There is nothing wrong with using like all the time. I say it instead of 'said,' instead of 'um' or 'uh.' I say it just randomly in a sentence. He was like... I was like... It was just, like, this big party. Saying it doesn't make me retarded, or an airhead, or something less than scholarly. It's a word, and its meaning and usage has changed in the last, LIKE, 15 years. My generation uses it all the time, and there's this condescending attitude towards it from both older people and people my own age, criticizing themselves. 'Like' doesn't only refer to "Having the same characteristics or qualities as some other person or thing," or "To please, be pleasing, suit a person." So don't try and make me feel somehow less than you because you don't like the language that I use. I'm not swearing, or being racist, etc. Guess what? Like's an awesome word, I say it all the time. So, like, shut the fuck up about LIKE.
Um, also? Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'm feeling kinda... Out of the loop. More so than usual, even. Which is saying a lot.
