Why wouldn't I be going to Boston?
So yes I know it's been a long time since my last update...
Too much happens at NSLC to be able to update on the entire session. So I'll paraphrase. It went well all in all. Despite being incredibly tired from the previous three sessions and going to NYC (YEAH!), I still managed to find time to be with those who I care about here. My students were good and they had a great time. The session was a bit spoiled by rampant hate speech/actions against women/homosexuals. One of those things that jsut makes me sad more than anything else. It tears me up to see such hatred in kids that are only 16 years old. What will happen when they grow up? Judging by the recent headlines from CA and NJ, I can only imagine. Why is this country so fucked up? Ugh.
But alas, the summer is over and it's time to leave D.C. Interestingly goodbyes haven't been that painful. I don't know exactly what it is, but I'd like to think that all of the people that I am close to and would miss, I know I'll see again. For me, this is more of a pause and change in friendships than an end. I couldn't ask for more.
Tomorrow I leave for Boston/Provincetown with Jessie. We have no place to stay, no plans, and little money. I'm soooo excited! All the makings for a roadtrip. I'm sure I'll have plenty to update on when I get back. Til then, radio silence for me: no watch, no internet, no cell phone...silence...ahhhhh...
