Update: MnA Japan Relief Fund

Apr 03, 2011 20:53

Bad news:
We didnt manage to join the arashi_on donation. I had a series of little mishaps with Paypal. Although I want to blame Paypal I have no one to blame but myself. Keep this post clean from bashing, if you want to get angry with me, do it [ here ].
Sincerest apology for that. The only good outcome of that is that we didnt waste RM150+ of our fund on Paypal charges.

What now:
After some deliberations on choosing between Mercy and Red Crescent Society (both have specific fund for Japan), I picked Red Crescent.
"But I've never seen Red Crescent's advertisement anywhere, unlike Mercy. Why don't we pick Mercy? Mercy is more popular". Precisely because of that.
As far as I know, Red Crescent never really use any of the money they receive on unnecessary things like advertisement. Accountability is what we're looking for. The fund will go straight to Red Cross Japan, so we can be assured that none of the fund will be used for Malaysian rescue team's transportation to Japan/preparations of their needs and whatnot. Mercy is silent about this, so we are forced to put our trust in them. I'm sorry, I don't trust people that much *__* A couple of you also expressed the same view via e-mails, so I know I'm not alone.

I'm going to bank-in the fund (RM4861Woot woot!!), hopefully on Monday/Tuesday.
Printscreen of the process will be posted here later ^^ Done!

Good news:
T-shirts are expected to be ready within this week! READY!! [ t-shirt confirmation post ]
But for the lack of manpower/someone truly dedicated to organise a screening, we dare not hold one. No good preparation, no screening. That's the way we see it. Instead we're going to hold just a simple meet-up to distribute the t-shirts. But of course we can always watch Gantz together that day, if you all want. Let's fill up half the cinema with noisy fangirls! muahaha. More on this meet up will be posted later (most likely not by me) :)
