I am seriously considering making this an art blog. This means art only posts, and making the blog available to search engines. My only consideration is that where will i cry/complain and talk about my life if i do? Basically this is a personal journal that has my personal problems all over it. That is not what i would want to put open to search

I find the "welcome message" I link to when my posts are public helps. All my random ramblings are "friends only"
I was a corporate slave for 23 years, then the SARS Virus attacked my heart and left me with poor health. I've not been able to return to work for the past 5 years. I took up art 3 years ago at the urging of my Mother, to help heal my soul and get me out of a deep depression. Before then I'd never painted before. I take a painting class once a week and I absolultely love the class, my mentor/teacher and all the wonderful artists in my class.
I have been in the creative rut many times over the past 3 years. When I'm in creative mode, I paint & paint & paint till I can't paint anymore. When I get in a rut when I can't imagine picking up a paintbrush I channel my creative energy in other directions. I make jewelry and I crochet. I did not paint all summer, I crocheted until my hands ached. I made lots of stuff for friends/relatives babies but also I crocheted layettes for an organization called Newborns in Need as well as crocheted scarves for the Special Winter Olympics. When I creating things for donation, not only does it give you a fabulous feeling inside, it can also bring back your creative spark.
I also love to browse around the Web and view other Artists work. Museum sites, Etsy, LJ, allposters.com, all over. That can sometimes get my creative juices flowing. So can reading or taking a wonderful walk in nature. Photography also helps when I'm in a rut. I can tell you that sometimes, nothing but time can get you out of a rut. Sometimes our creative spring dries up for a while. Not to worry, it will fill back up soon.
I'm sending lots of creative positive energy your way. Speaking of which, keep lots of positive thoughts in your mind will help too.
