Fun at the ER

Aug 03, 2010 00:38

So I was in so much pain I was crying this morning. I've had migraines for a LONG time, but this was worse than it's ever been. I managed to fall into a kind of sleep around noon and tossed and turned until 7 or a little after when I woke myself up screaming. I managed to crawl to the dresses and get my phone, find the number and call work. Of course they acted like I was lying (no one who ever calls in sick is telling the truth) but they finally said "Ok, I'll let Patrick know." Patrick is my manager, the one who said I would get fired if I call in on a mandatory work day like today. I guess we'll see about that. anyway, my next call is to Danielle, my friend in town. She says "Do you want me to give you a ride?" and I tell her I don't want to use her for her car, and she cuts me off and says "Lillian, you know I don't mind. Stop it. I'm coming over." So she comes over with Arionna her daughter and Jozalyn, her new baby (eeee baby) and we decide to get some food because I haven't eaten all day, and I was nervous about the hospital giving me shit because I don't have insurance, so we decide to see if food will help, and we go to McDonald's (people shit all over McDonald's, but for poor people, a $1 double cheeseburger is cheap and filling and that's sometimes a godsend, and if you think I'm exaggerating, then I'm happy for you and I hope you never have to live my life). Anyway, in the parking lot, Arionna throws up, so Danielle says "we're going to the ER now, there's no choice." So we go to the ER for both me and Arionna, which is a production. The intake staff is nicer than I expected about my lack of insurance, but they practically threaten to throw us out if we eat our McDonald's in their hospital room. We're there for approximately four million years, but the end result is that Arionna is ok (she's diabetic and the heat was getting to her and making her body go all wonky...some gatorade helped and she took some zofran for the nausea and some tylenol for the headache she had) and for me, the doctor was first pissed that I'd stopped taking my Propranelol about four months ago. I tried to explain about the crazy Christian clinic, but he told me he understands my concerns, but my health is more important than a little frustration. And he's right. I'm going to grit my teeth and go back on Wednesday. They give out free prescriptions there, so it's better to go there for the meds. He also told me to start taking my Melatonin again since that helped the migraines, and they gave me Servocet (I'm not even sure if that is CLOSE to the right spelling, but whatever this shit is, it's GOOD...I feel shiny right now...whee, pretty colors...and my pain is GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I feel much better now. We went to Walmart to pick up some Benedryl (I had run out a few days ago but they said if it helps my sinuses, I should get more, because sinus headaches can trigger migraines, so I bought some vitamins with Melatonin and some Benedryl). While I was there, I also picked up some Hagen Daz peanut brittle ice cream (don't judge me...I've had a BAD DAY). I'm full and happy now, plus I got a new phone last week, so you know what that means! PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They gave Arionna a bucket in case she threw up again, and she decided to wear it on her head

BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jozalyn is squirmy but adorable

She totally looks high...

She's like, 'Seriously, stop it with the camera.'

Proud mommy Danielle

She's eating mommy's thumb

Arionna kept saying "Cheese...CHEESE..." getting louder and louder until we figured out that she wanted me to take her picture

I really like this picture of Danielle

The Starship Enterprise was on the ceiling of the hospital room. SRSLY.

The whole time we were in the hospital Arionna kept asking for pie, saying she wants apple pie, so when we got out we went back to McDonald's to get her an apple pie
