New Child
I have a new child.
Everyone, meet Lucy. She is a brand new (well, factory refurbished) teeny tiny PC. What happened was, Geeks.com had a Black Friday sale where Lucy and her accompanying bundle went on sale for $300. A friend of mine offered to help me make payments if I ordered her, So we worked out a financing plan I can live with (we hope) and thus Lucy came in the mail yesterday. The rest of her bundle won't arrive until Tuesday (so no speakers or cooling pad or flash drive or USB hub until then) but she's mine.
Lucy is TINY. She's small enough to fit in the palm of my hand (but she has a 160 GB hard drive, which is bigger than the one on my old full sized laptop). I'm told that Acer computers are good for the price, which means they're cheap but they work, and my old reliable eMachines desktop is still going strong, so I'm inclined to believe that.
I'm still getting used to dealing with her. It's already easier to type and write being able to recline with my teeny computer, so I'm grateful for that (now maybe I'll finally get some shit written) but I'm sure I'll adjust. I kind of like having a computer small enough to fit in my purse.
Side view. Lucy comes with a webcam! Maybe I'll get some hot pussy action recorded with this thing (translation: Bella has already had her first webcam session yesterday and she fussed a lot, but she looked adorable).
The cover. Acer buttons are a little weird which is hard to get used to, but the keypad is ten times easier than trying to type with a keyboard (how did I use one of those for so long?)
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have a computer I can use again while I'm lying down. I'm excited to try writing again, and I intend to take good care of my leetle Lucy so she will last me a good long time.
