Torn couldn't believe he'd let go. How weak had he gotten?! A hit with a stupid stick and he'd played into the stupid therapist's hands.

Not that Sakura apparently needed his help to escape, even if he'd been more than willing to give it. Resourceful, spirited girl. But no time to celebrate. No time to even break out a smirk.

House was going for his pocket--another needle maybe?

Couldn't have that.

The tall man didn't even think as he pushed Sakura back and out his way. Didn't consider for a moment the consequences when he drew back his arm in preporation. He just swung.

See, before Torn had come to Malaise, he'd lost someone very important to him, and this had resulted in the development of a few, teensy-tiny anger issues. While Torn had spent most of his life being one of those very level headed sort of folks, after Ashelin, well, he'd stopped. He'd become one of those angry sort of folks. And then one of those withdrawn sort of folks.

Now there was an opening for violence, and he just took it.

After all, he had promised House.
