Fran coming had shaken his usual calm. Speaking to her and having her so instantly know, as only partners can, most of the truth behind his actions, had nearly ruined it. But at least for now, he tried to seem as relaxed and upbeat as Keiichi had always seen him. Balthier saw no point in scaring him with a serious expression when what he planned on saying would possibly damage the teen as it was.
He tried to live by what he told his patients. He tried not to let his past issues weigh him down. In the end, though, Balthier was no better at trusting than most of them were. Thinking about that made him chuckle. Whenever the teen arrived, he'd be ready to talk about his truth.
