Dani knew her father was insane. No, insane was too mild. He was totally out of his knocker. He was loopier than the mad hatter. Completely and utterly bonkers.
In short, he was one seriously crazed fruit loop. She knew this. She accepted it. And that's why she ran away from it. She had thought Danny Fenton had left a few days ago. She had noticed the change. She wasn't sure if he was sane, but he was better. Then this new Danny came in. He claimed to be Danny Masters. He claimed to be fourteen.
Which couldn't be. She knew what her elder brothers who were alive looked like. One who appeared like his skin was melting off and one who appeared like a cross between a hunchback and Frankenstein.
Whoever this boy was, he wasn't her brother. So she waited in the back of the library, hiding her face with a magazine, adjusting the red cap on her head to get his attention. She just had to wait.
