Summary: Newly released from solitary, Lavi sneaks over to spend some time with his partner in crime.

A sharp sound jerked Kallen out of her sound sleep. She wasn't even sure what time it was, hell, wasn't even sure if the sun was still up since the curtains were closed and the room was dark.

Not wanting to get up and investigate, Kallen burrowed under her covers again only to find that the noise would not stop. Realizing that someone was at her door, she crawled out of the warmth that was her bed and slowly made her way to the door, ready to yell at the person that was disturbing her.

Opening the door a bit, Kallen peered out and blinked at the light that suddenly assaulted her eyes. "This had better be go--oh........." she said, cutting herself off when she noticed her visitor. Kallen opened the door a bit more, rubbing her eyes. "Come on in."

"Didn't mean to wake you up," he said softly, stepping into the room and letting it close behind him, glancing around for a moment before his gaze landed on her once again. "Get back to bed. You'll freeze if you stand out here for too long..."

Giving Lavi a nod, Kallen started to go back to her bed, but instead stepped close to him. "No, it's okay," she told him, before reaching out and wrapping her arms around him.

There was a moment of surprise as her arms wound around him, but he was quick to return it, arms coming up around her to embrace her tightly, head bowed against her cheek. "I'm... really glad you're okay. I've been worried.. so damned fuckin' worried.."

"I'm fine," she said, trying to think of how to reassure him. "Still a bit groggy from my medication, but....I'm fine." It wasn't exactly true, she was still in a bit of pain from her injury, but Kallen didn't want Lavi to worry.

"Still."

He pulled back slightly, a gloved hand coming up to touch her cheek, to press back through her hair, checking her over in his own way as though assuring himself of her relative health.

"Back to bed. You've got to be freezing," he finally said, a hand planted lightly against her back to propel her there, adding his own stack of blankets to her bed, adding to the warmth.

Shivering a bit from his touch, Kallen allowed himself to be guided back to her nest of blankets and pillows. "Are you my mother now?" she asked, as she crawled under the covers once more.

"Just your fiance, remember?" Lavi said with a small laugh, though he wasn't sure how true all of it still was given their disastrous escape. But still he crawled in along with her, arm snaking lightly over her waist, careful to avoid her injury. "Have to make sure you take care of yourself."

Kallen blushed a bit at his words. "Do.......you still mean it?" she asked as she scooted a bit closer, trying to get warm again.

"If it's what you still want, I do," Lavi murmured without missing a beat, reaching down to tug the blankets further up around them both, pressed in close so hardly any space existed around them. "We'll get out of here eventually. Both of us. And then we'll... keep our plans, I s'pose."

"I still want to," Kallen answered, burying her face into Lavi's neck. One of her hands made it's way up to his head and her fingers began to idly run through his hair.

"And......I'm sorry. For........." Kallen's voice trailed off as she thought of how to complete her thought. Sorry for getting caught? Sorry for getting hurt? "For everything that happened." she finished.

She brought up feelings in him that he had never felt before, of protectiveness, of adoration, of a certain possessive streak he hadn't realised he had. His arm tightened around her, slipping up to cup the back of her head, fingers stroking through her own hair, mimicking her own motions in his hair.

"Then we will. The minute we have the chance to," he said simply, pulling back slightly to press a kiss to her cheek, nuzzling there for a moment. "And there's nothin' to be sorry for. I don't blame you for anything."

The hand that was tangled in his hair slid down to his waist, where it made it's way under his shirt and settled there. "Are you going to tell anyone?" Kallen wondered, the flat of her hand stroking his smooth skin.

"Tell them what?" Lavi questioned, shivering for a moment at her touch. It had been entirely too long.

"About our.........engagement." Kallen smirked inwardly at his response, and moved her hand so that it was only her fingertips moving across him. "Cold?"

"Should I make a post telling everyone here that we are?" Lavi questioned, and then he gasped a little, stomach shrinking away from her roaming fingers even as he pressed closer. "A.... little."
