Today though it is still cold, was bright and for the morning there was no sign of clouds in the sky. We had a walk into the centre of town. That did not take very long. We looked at the square. We looked at the water tower. We looked at the statue of Mr. A. Lincoln.
After a short tea break, we went into the other direction down towards the cemetry - just before we got there we saw a swallow tail butterfly; larger than I expected, then we saw a great blue heron come into land by the side of a very small stream. The a couple of turky buzzards soaring and then what at first we thought was a falcon. However it turned out to be a common nighthawk. We saw the civil war part of the cemetry, then had a look at the creek. Over head there was a red tailed hawk, riding back and forth against quite a strong wind.
Elsewhere in the park there were grey squirrels. One that we believed to be a fox squirrel. By the creek, we watch three rough winged swallows fighting over the choice of holes.
