Not Happy tonight

Aug 22, 2006 18:10

Okay so two things have conspired to put me in a pretty foul mood. However, first I should let you know how things are going with the yard sale (if anyone really cares!)

We sold again on Monday and made some more money which was great. Then today I spent most of the day cleaning up garbage and boxes. It's amazing what disappeared over night after we put it out for free. More will be gone tommorrow and I'mhoping by Thursday there won't be that much left to clean up. We've got a dumpster and I might make one run to the Salvation army in Owen Sound.

Anyway, the first thing that tickedme off way my own fault. Imade an accounting error in the money counting Sunday night and it turns out we didn't make $5000 after all. Even after selling on Monday we still only made $4900. It's close but not quite. So that really fried my biscuit.

Then I finish finding that out just to go on the internet and discover that they've cancelled Stargate!!!!!!!!! I can't believe they've done that! They've claiming it's not because of ratings and what really pissed me off was the way it was done. They did it just as eveyone was celebrating the 200th epsiode ()the first sci-fi show to make 200) and that's just crude.
Apparently they are looking at ways to keep the franchise going (movies, books, etc.) and they are also looking for other stations that would be willing to take it on and make it, but nothing is confirmed yet othe rthen Sci-Fi is no longer going to be making it past Season 10. We're not even sure they're's going ot be any closure at all since they've already taped half of season 10.

People have already started a write in campaign and here are a few that anyone might be intersted in. I personally really like the idea of #1 and plan to do both but remember to put in what you'd really like to see so that if they do continue with it at least they'll do it right.

3) Write to Showtime telling them that they should take on the show if Sci-Fi really does drop it as they have shown interest in the franchise in the past.
