Hello to everyone who has one!
Things are rolling along here. The bus tours are coming up at work and they're not even close to done. Tickets are selling slowly but they haven't even figured out where they're going! Yeesh. Anyway, not really my problem. I've got another worker at the museum for one day a week and he's very efficient. We'll be hiring our summer student soon and there are some really wacky applications! One guy applied from California! Go figure. I don't think they understand what we mean by $8 an hour. Anyway, also not my problem. If they're hired and accept they'll have to deal with it.
We're starting to get more people in and the opening has really helped because a lot of peole have come in saying they'd heard we were now open. We've had a pretty good response. Some people are a little ticked that they're stuff isn't out but they're so impressed by the museum that it sort of calms them down. A bit of explanation and we're fine!
Crystal is working out well. She's a little slow, but very through. Then again, I probably work to fast and make too many mistakes. We balance out well.
Pathfinders is pretty much over. Just the trip on the 30th and everything will be in hand for that by the end of tomorrow. We're going somewhere really cool, Casa Loma for their Renissance Festival and then to Medieval Times, which I've never been to. Four of teh five girls are going and Stephanie, Sam's helper, can somet o help with her so that will make the day much more enjoyable.
I have no idea how Pathfinders will turn out next year. Colleen has said she'll come back and work with me, we had a lot of fun this year. I think next year will be easier if we can get some second years back. Those with exerpience will help the younger ones. I know at least one guide who's coming so that's good too.
We had our advanement on Wednesday night (where the girls who are finished their program go up to the next level) and it was fantastic! We made a cardboard tree and put together a sound effect and our theme was Magical Transformation. The girls would walk into the tree, we'd play the sound and the idea was they transformed inside the tree and would be the next level when they came out. They'd then get a costume for their new level. They loved it! In fact I had a line up of kids who hadn't flew up who wanted to be "transformed" in the tree after the whole thingw as over. It was great fun and we've managed to keep the tree (wich colleen did a wonderful job on by the way) and hopefully we can use it again next year. We'll change it up a bit but they really liked the idea.
I managed to clean my car and get some new clothes (since i"Ve gained so much weight this has become a necessity, oh dear)and I really like them. Laura is comig home the end of this month, for a month, and Lynda and Mom are at each other's throats, over towels of all things! Mom really needs some time off.
I've started supply teaching again, only on Monday's though. Havne't got all the problems with themunicaplity worked out yet. Gonna keep at it.
Guess that's it for now. TTYl
