Great Week
Despite the fact that I've been pulling 10 and 14 hr days since Monday I'm having a really good week. I finally feel like I"m moving toward getting the building open. Jobs that have been laying around for months are being done. Most of them by my volunteers but they're getting done. It seems like the due dae has got people off their asses. In the past 3 days I've had the following good news:
- allowed to hire the assistant (after Brian called David)
- got my tax return (yippee) and was able to pu 3500 on my loan
- was able to purchase blinds for the museum and didn't pay asmuch as I thought I would
- worked out a way to put curtains on the fire truck doors without paying an arm and a leg
- got the quilt hanging system up and working
- Lee's not around being annoying
- the street signs directing people to the museum will be done by the end of April
- I've got a volunteer willing to do a lot of work for me
- the paintings will be getting done (whew) and I've ordered the wood for those
- I got the stuff to start working with the plexi-glass (just today, Saturday should be fun time!)
- I got the photoshop program avilable on my computer at the museum (now just have to figure out how to get it at home..hm...)
- I've started talking to people about displays and a few are actually going to get done....others I haven't even looked at. I have to get back to a few people about my letter but oh well.
It just feels like people are starting to work with me, instead of against me. One of the most important things was that I found out about the Pay Equity results for the Band levels. I was moved up from Band 5 to band 7 which is where we thought I should be. I'm definitely going to be getting a pay raise, but we don't know what the actual money numbers are yet. I'm hoping this will involve back pay....even more off my loan. I'll have to wait and see.
Anyway, just wanted to let people know that although I'm still stressed and totally panicing things are working okay for now. I hope everyone else is having a good week.
