It's currently an essay-filled time at school. Which means lots of reading, note-taking, brainstorming, and grinding and mind-numbing writing. I think it's going alright though. I've allotted a specific amount of time for each essay so that I can concentrate on each essay individually and am not distracted by the others at the same time. That's how my brain likes to work.
This is the reason that the sewing goes slowly. I finished my Wednesday costume in good time though. While it was a bit tough for some people to figure out who I was (when I told them, I got lots of "That's what I thought! But I wasn't sure and didn't want to say that and be wrong."), lots of people thought it was a good costume. I also got one of the best compliments a sewintist can get, people asked me where I got the dress. When I told them I made it, they were astonished. Even the people who know that I sew thought it was pretty awesome. So that was great. :)
In other news, as though I didn't already have enough going on, I decided to participate in NaNoWriMo. I wanted to last year, but thought that I had too much school going on. I probably have just as much school stuff this year, but I didn't want to pass it up again. Plus, I figured that if I didn't start now, I never would. It's only two days in and I'm having a blast. I have so many random ideas, it's good to finally have the impetus to get one down. I'm trying to do about 2000 words/day to give myself a little bit of leeway for the days when I may not be able to get much done. It's a historical fantasy, which is probably one of my favourite genres because it mixes my two favourite genres of historical fiction and fantasy. Good times!
